In 2nd grade, the sutdents become more fluent readers. They use these reading skills to begin to read to learn. In second grade, we learn to add and subtract with grouping, tell time, measure, read and understand fractions, and graph. We also learn all about money and problem solving. In social studies we sutdy about our place in the community, state, country and world. In science, we study about plants and animals, rocks and fossils, and force and motion. Writing and computer are utilized throughout the curriculum. Physical fitness and healthy habits are taught throughout the year.
