Fourth & Fifth Grade

The years your child spends in the fourth and fifth grades will be a big transition from the lower elementary grades. In these grades, expectations are high and there is a strong focus placed on learning to become more independent and responsible learners, applying the skills they are taught. The students are reading to learn at this stage rather than learning how to read, and they are expected to have their math facts and basic skills mastered. They need these math skills to be able to learn the more difficult skills introduced in these years. Our goal as fourth and fifth grade teachers is for each student in our classes to be prepared academically with strong study habits and skills so each student will be successful in middle school and beyond. We look forward to the year we will spend with your child preparing him or her for the future.

Our Mission Statement

We are a team of dedicated and caring 4th and 5th grade teachers.  We have a desire to create a  community of responsible life-long learners by collaborating, communicating as a team and maintaining consistent expectations.

We are enthusiastic, caring, dedicated 5th grade teachers.  We inspire and motivate students to be life-long learners and to be productive members of society.   We collaborate regularly, manage time effectively, and share new techniques and resources to faciliate student learning.
